CA Students’ National Conference 2025 Concludes in Kolkata with Record-Breaking Ethics Session
The two-day CA Students’ National Conference 2025, jointly organized by the Eastern India Chartered Accountants Students’ Association (EICASA) and the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI, was successfully held on June 28 and 29 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata. Themed “RRR Returns – Reskill, Resolve, Rejoice,” the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 5,000 CA students from across the country.

Day 1: A Powerful Start with Inspiring Voices
The conference was inaugurated on June 28 in the presence of *Dr. Sukanta Majumdar*, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, Government of India. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Agarwal, Vice Chairman & MD of Emami Ltd., attended as Guest of Honour, while Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Chairman of Kent RO Systems, encouraged students to pursue passion with purpose.
In a special virtual address, *Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind*, urged students to remain rooted in ethics and speak up even when it’s difficult. ICAI Council Member *CA Ravi Kumar Patwa, EIRC Chairman **CA Vishnu K. Tulsyan, and EICASA Chairman **CA Mayur Agrawal* also addressed the gathering, highlighting ICAI’s efforts in nation-building and the hard work behind organizing the event. The ceremony began with a two-minute silence in tribute to the martyrs of the Pahalgam attack.
Day 2: A Day of Records, Dialogue, and Responsibility*
On June 29, the conference made history as EICASA – EIRC was officially recognized by the *World Book of Records, London, for conducting the *world’s largest ethics lesson on the topic: “Role of Ethics in the Accounting Profession and its Impact on Global Financial Transparency,” with the participation of *5,030 students*.
The record certificate was formally presented to CA Mayur Agrawal, Chairman of EICASA, by World Book of Records officials Mr. Rajesh Shukla and Dr. Rajeev Shrivastava . The day also featured a unique courtroom-style session titled “Aaj Ki Adalat”, where students engaged directly with the leadership of ICAI’s Board of Studies – Operations.
Led by CA (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Past President, ICAI, along with CA (Dr.) Rohit Ruwatia, Chairman, and CA Sanjib Sanghi, Vice Chairman of the Board, the panel addressed questions related to syllabus, articleship, global exposure, and student support. The interactive dialogue strengthened trust between the students and the Institute, reinforcing transparency and responsiveness in academic governance.
