Teach Your Children Like This
Introduction: It is usually seen that children and parents remember to study and teach only when their exams draw near. As soon as the exams are scheduled, parents sit down to teach the child the whole day and the child also gets a huge burden of studies. That’s why children start treating the exam as a ghost and considering it a bogeyman, get irritated even by its name.

Focus on Your Child’s Studies throughout the Year:
It is every parent’s dream that their child should excel not only in studies but also in every field. In order to make this dream come true, it is most important to remove the fear of exams from the child’s mind. This fear can be removed only when you focus on the child’s studies not just at the time of exams but throughout the year.
- As soon as new classes start, the child gets the syllabus for the entire year and also gets information about the examination dates, hence decide the child’s time table according to the syllabus.
- If the child understands the lesson well, he can solve the questions easily. First teach the lesson to the child and after teaching the lesson try to find out how much he has understood the lesson, so ask questions in between the lesson and try to explain to the child that if the same question is asked to you in any way in a roundabout way, then you have to give the same answer. Although teachers teach the lesson in school, it is not possible for them to know how much the child has understood, because there are many children in the class.
- If your child is weak in any subject then you should spend more time in teaching that subject. If it is not possible for you to teach that subject then arrange tuition for that subject.
- If you are unable to teach the child and he is getting tuitions, keep getting to know about his progress from the tuition teacher and ask the tuition teacher to complete his syllabus a few days before the examination so that the child can revise in the remaining days.
- On the day of the exam, do not keep the child busy all day to study. Give him time to relax in between and if he wants to play, let him play for some time. It is important for the child to be physically and mentally healthy before the exam.
- Mathematics is a subject in which the child needs special practice, hence make the child develop the habit of practicing for half an hour every day.
- Do not make your child study till late at night during the exam days. This will prevent him from getting enough sleep and he will not feel fit during the exam.
- While going for the exam, do not let him feel that you are very worried about his exam. If you show this, he will also feel scared and dejected.
Conclusion:
If your child scores low marks in the exam, it does not mean that he is incapable. Sometimes, despite being intelligent, children do something wrong or forget something in the exam due to carelessness. So, inculcate in them the habit of being careful while solving the question paper and develop self-confidence in themselves. Also, many children memorize things without understanding them, due to which they soon forget what they have memorized. Help them change this habit.
