Adopt a Systematic Routine to Achieve Glowing Skin

Introduction

In today’s world, pollution, sunlight, stress, and an imbalanced lifestyle deeply affect our skin. Achieving healthy and glowing skin does not depend only on using products; rather, it relies on a well-organised and scientific routine. In dermatology, the morning CHP (Cleanse, Hydrate, Protect) and evening CHC (Cleanse, Heal, Calm) skincare routines are considered systematic and effective principles.

Morning Routine: CHP (Cleanse, Hydrate, Protect)

The aim of the morning routine is to prepare the skin for the challenges of the day.

1. Cleansing

Morning cleansing is essential to remove oil, sweat, and dead skin accumulated overnight. Choose a gentle cleanser according to your skin type—whether gel-based, foam-based, or a milk cleanser. Cleansing keeps the skin breathable and helps the products applied afterwards absorb better.

2. Hydration

In the morning, it is important to provide the skin with light yet effective hydration. For this, serums containing hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, or vitamin C can be used. These help maintain moisture, protect against oxidative damage, and strengthen the skin barrier. After this, apply a non-comedogenic moisturiser.

3. Protection

Protection is the most important step. Apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or SPF 50 daily. Sun rays and pollution are responsible for up to 80% of premature ageing. Sunscreen protects the skin from pigmentation, tanning, wrinkles, and sunburn. Reapplying it every 2–3 hours gives better results.

Evening Routine: CHC (Cleanse, Heal, Calm)

The purpose of the evening routine is to repair the damage caused during the day, restore the skin, and replenish moisture.

1. Cleansing

In the evening, double cleansing is ideal. First, remove dust, dirt, and sunscreen with an oil-based make-up remover or micellar water, then cleanse thoroughly with a face wash. This keeps pores unclogged and reduces the risk of breakouts.

2. Healing

In the evening, the skin absorbs active ingredients more effectively. Depending on the skin’s needs, retinol, niacinamide, peptides, or vitamin C can be used. These help with skin renewal, improving pigmentation, reducing fine lines, and enhancing overall texture.

3. Calming / Soothing

Finally, apply a night cream or moisturiser that soothes the skin, prevents excessive transepidermal water loss, and restores the skin barrier.
