Introduction: Since the trend of listening to music through earphones on mobile and iPod has increased, the number of accidents has also increased, whether it is an accident of death or hearing loss. By listening to music or talking through earphones, even a low sound can be heard clearly and loudly, because earphones are very close to the ears and sound loss is very less.

Do not Use Mobile Phone While Driving

  1. Talking on mobile phone while driving is inviting road accidents. Never talk on mobile phone while driving. If you get a call, disconnect it or park your scooter or car on the side of the road and talk.
  2. Driving while drinking alcohol is as dangerous as driving while talking on the mobile phone. So, do not use the mobile phone while driving.
  3. Many people think that it is safe to talk on mobile through hands-free earphones but according to experts, about 40 percent of your attention gets diverted while driving.
  4. It is dangerous to read or send too many messages on your phone because you have to take your eyes off the road while reading or sending messages. And it is an even more dangerous situation.

Do not Use Earphones in These Places

It is not wrong to listen to music or talk on mobile phone with earphones but there are some places where if we use earphones then we can be in danger, like-

  1. While crossing the road or walking on the side of the road.
  2. While driving.
  3. At the station, bus stop, airport.
  4. While parking the vehicle or at the parking site.
  5. At malls or other crowded places
  6. On construction sites.
  7. On the bridge, under the bridge or around the end of the bridge.
  8. While doing any important work.
  9. When you are listening to music on your phone or talking to someone else, keep the volume low.
  10. Do not keep earphones on your ears for more than two hours. If you have to wear them for a longer time, then give your ears rest at short intervals.
  11. If you are talking or listening to music using earphones at night, remove them and then go to sleep, otherwise your ears can get severely damaged.
  12. Choose earphones that do not go deep inside the ears but remain on the outer part only.

You can also use single ear phone sometimes.

Avoid the Harmful Effects of Earphones on Health

  1. Excessive use of earphones and headphones can affect your hearing ability.
  2. Do not listen to music at full volume. This weakens the hearing power. If you want to listen to music, then listen at 10 to 50 percent volume only.
  3. Do not listen to music on iPod continuously. Listen for a maximum of 60 minutes and do not keep the volume at more than 60 percent.
