Megalith 2026 Kicks Off at IIT Kharagpur, Drawing Engineering Students from Across the Country
Sachi Shiksha News (Kharagpur): The annual civil engineering festival “Megalith 2026” commenced today, March 20, at IIT Kharagpur and will continue until March 22. With participation from thousands of engineering students across the country, this national-level technical fest has once again become a hub of innovation and technical excellence.
A fest representative told the Sachi Shiksha correspondent that more than 5,000 students participated in previous editions, and a similar level of participation is being witnessed this year as well.

Competitions Begin on Day One
According to the organizers, the fest began with a grand inaugration ceremony on the first day, followed by the start of various technical competitions. Events such as Beat-D-Euclid and Dark Code will showcase participants’ skills in designing and programming.
In addition, preliminary rounds of major events like Liftovate, Vortex, Instridge, and Criar will also be conducted, where participants will present their technical expertise and creative thinking.
Workshops and Innovation in Focus on Day Two
The fest representative informed Sachi Shiksha that the second day, March 21, will feature industry-oriented workshops and practical sessions, offering students real-world engineering exposure.
Events like Green Canvas and Survey Hunt will test participants’ technical knowledge, teamwork, and innovative abilities.
Final Rounds and Expert Discussions on the Last Day
According to the organizers, the final day, March 22, will host the final rounds of Instridge, Liftovate, and Vortex.
Additionally, a special panel discussion will be held where experts will share insights on key civil engineering topics such as sustainable development, urban infrastructure, and emerging technologies and make day memorable standup comedy show by haseeb khan will be organized.
