Maximum Use of Brain
Introduction: Forgetting is a natural process. William James, a famous American psychologist and philosopher, says that forgetting is as important as remembering for the right use of the brain. If we try to remember everything, our brain will get upset and we will not be able to remember even a single thing at the right time. It is good for us to forget some things but not so much that we forget even the common things. We should remember only the important things but we must also keep in mind that our memory remains normal.

Think Positive About your Memory:
In reality memory is neither good nor bad. Like other things our memory is also affected by our thinking. If we think that our memory is weak then even if our memory is fine, it will definitely become weak one day. On the contrary if we think and convince our mind that our memory is good, it will definitely become good.
Use Brain to Its Maximum Capacity:
Our brain plays an important role in our memory but unless it is used, it is useless. Generally, we use very little of our brain’s capacity. Usually, we use only eight to ten percent of our brain. The more we use our brain’s capacity, the more it will increase. To keep your memory sharp, use your brain’s capacity as much as possible. Keep doing something that requires the brain to use it.
Humour:
Humour also has a deep connection with keeping the memory sharp. While laughing, our dormant brain cells or neurons become active and help in sharpening our memory. To keep your memory sharp, laugh and make others laugh whenever you get a chance. It is also important to get adequate sleep because less sleep reduces the number of brain cells or neurons in a part of our brain, which weakens the memory.
Learn Multiple Languages:
New scientific research suggests that learning multiple languages in childhood may be beneficial to a person’s mental health in old age. A person who speaks multiple languages has a brain that remains relatively more active even in his old age than a person who knows just one language. Knowledge of more languages creates such links inside the brain that the person’s mental activity remains intact. If you could not learn more languages in childhood, then it does not matter, start learning a language today itself.
Try Different Arts:
Concentration is developed through singing, playing instruments, dancing, acting and other arts like sculpture and crafts etc. Therefore, these arts can be used to relieve stress and keep the memory sharp. One does not need to be a great painter or artist for this. We can easily keep our memory sharp by drawing horizontal and diagonal lines using colours of our choice or by making various shapes with wet clay.
Keep Learning Something New:
To keep your memory good, keep memorizing something new, keep learning something new. To keep your memory sharp, not only keep learning yourself but also spend some time teaching others. Those who listen to the problems of others carefully and take interest in finding solutions to them, their memory also remains relatively good.
