Anarsa Goli
Material
- Rice – 2 cups (400 grams),
- Milk – 6 tablespoons,
- Bura (Traditioner Sweetener) – 1 cup (150 grams),
- Ghee – for frying,
- Sesame seeds – 1/4 cup.
Method of Preparation:
To make Anarsa pills, soak 2 cups of rice for 72 hours. Take out the rice from the water and wash it with clean water. Now take out the rice from the water, put it on a dry cloth and dry it lightly. After an hour, when the rice dries, put it in a mixer jar and grind it finely to make a powder. Strain the ground rice in a sieve and take it into a vessel. Now add rice flour and 1 cup of Bura in a vessel and mix well.
Now prepare the dough by adding milk little by little. We have used 6 tablespoons of milk to make this much dough. Now cover the prepared dough and let it set for 7-8 hours. After 7-8 hours, when the dough is set, take a little bit of the dough and put it in white sesame seeds and then place it between both the palms and give it a round shape. Prepare all the pills in the same manner.
Now put ghee in a pan and heat it. Once the ghee becomes hot, add a little flour into the ghee and check its temperature. When flour is added, ghee starts bubbling and the dough starts cooking. To fry Anarsa, medium flame and medium hot ghee should also be.
When the ghee becomes hot, put the Anarsa pills in the ghee and fry them. Fry the Anarsa while turning it with a ladle until it turns nice golden brown. When the Anarsa turns golden brown, take it out from the pan and prepare all the Anarsa balls by frying them in the same manner. It takes 4 to 5 minutes to fry one time. We have prepared 35 pills from this much dough. You can store them for 8-9 days & eat them.
