Humanity: Dera Sachs Sauda`s Commendable Campaign for People with Mental Challenges

People going through mental stress due to family worries often go far away from their loved ones, or sometimes due to mental illness, some people get lost in the crowd of the world, who are often labelled as unclaimed or missing. But separation from the family becomes the cause of sorrow for such people. In the absence of medical facilities as well as basic amenities like food, clothing and shelter, their life becomes hell while living. They neither have any sense of food or drink nor any place to live.

Such people wandering on the streets like madmen are usually seen searching for food from the dirt. To take care of such mentally challenged people, Dera Sacha Sauda has started a unique campaign ‘Insaniyat’ under the holy guidance of Revered Saint Dr. MSG. This campaign aims at extending them love, affection, care like their own and reunites them with their family. The volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda’s Sangaria (Rajasthan) block have emerged as a new ray of hope for such people suffering from mental illness.

In the last 11 years, these volunteers have travelled about 70,000 km at their own cost to Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Odisha, Delhi, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and have taken care of about 200 helpless mentally challenged and mentally disturbed people, reuniting them with their families. For this selfless service, the volunteers have been honoured many times at the administrative level.

Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Committee, Unit Block Sangaria’s key member, Lal Chand Insan, told in a special conversation with Sachi Shiksha that three things are very necessary for the salvation of man. First is selfless service. The second is the path of devotion. And the third is self-knowledge. It is very important to have a stable mind to do devotion, but in the age of modernity, the evil mind has become very fickle. Self-knowledge is an even more difficult path, but if selfless work is done, it not only gives inner peace, but also fulfills the needs of the people.

He further told that on the call of Revered Guru Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, the volunteers  of Sangaria block started service under the ‘Insaniyat Abhiyan’ from May 2014, in which they have taken on the responsibility of care for mentally ill people roaming helplessly on roads, squares, streets, railway stations, bus stands and similar places.

Volunteers Make Such People both Physically and Mentally Strong

You must have often seen people wandering helplessly on the roadside or in the streets, but the volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda  keep searching for such people who are wandering helplessly on the roadside or in the streets, in an unconscious state, wearing torn, old, dirty clothes and with their bodies half covered. These volunteers treat such people with great love and respect so that their broken hope can be restored with positive energy. After this, the work of taking care of them begins:

the volunteers carry out daily tasks such as  bathing them, cutting their hair, trimming their nails etc. with full dedication. Such people are given good clothes to wear and good food to eat as befits a civilized society. At the same time, treatment is also started with the help of expert doctors. The volunteers say that there are many such people whose bodies have such deep wounds that others do not even like to look at. These  people are given relief through treatment, and counselling is also provided so that information about their family can be gathered. Efforts are made to make such people strong not only physically but also mentally.
