Jaggery Puffed Rice Laddoo

Jaggery Puffed Rice Laddoo

 Ingredients:

  • 300 grams puffed rice
  • 300 grams jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon ghee
  • 1 small piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 cup water

Jaggery Puffed Rice Laddu Method:

First, put the puffed rice in a large pan and roast it over medium heat until it starts to crackle. Remove the puffed rice from the pan.

In the same pan, add ghee, jaggery, water, and grated ginger. Heat on high flame until the jaggery begins to melt.

Once the jaggery starts melting, reduce the heat to medium. Keep the flame low to medium, otherwise the jaggery may burn.

Cook the jaggery on low heat until it melts completely. You will notice small bubbles forming on the surface of the jaggery syrup—this indicates that the syrup is ready.

Immediately add the puffed rice and mix quickly so that it gets coated well with the jaggery.

Pour some water into a large bowl. Wet your hands lightly, take a small portion of the mixture, and gently press it between your palms to form a laddoo.

If the mixture becomes too stiff at the end, place the pan back on low heat for a few seconds. This will loosen the mixture and help in shaping the laddoos. A delicious and healthy sweet is ready.
