Joint Pain in Winter Season

Get Relief from Joint Pain in Winter Season

Introduction:  As soon as the cold season arrives, people start suffering from joint pain and muscle pain. With the change in weather and drop in temperature, many people seem to be troubled by it. During winter season, people have to pay special attention to their joints and bones.

This season can badly affect the Vitamin D present in the body of children, weak and elderly people, which is very important for bones. Calcium and vitamin D, which we get from food, supplements, or sun, help build bones from childhood through adulthood and keep us healthy through middle age and beyond.

Vitamin D Deficiency:

Vitamin D is necessary for the strength of bones, which we get from sunlight. Sunlight contains ultraviolet rays. Our outer skin absorbs this and obtains Vitamin D from it. This Vitamin D, along with the calcium obtained from our diet, strengthens the bones.

As we age, our bones become brittle and hollow. Generally, this condition starts appearing in all men and women after the age of 40. This troubles us in the form of pain during cold, in which joint pain and muscle stiffness start occurring when cold increases or at night.

Increasing Age, Increasing Risk:

As age increases, this problem starts increasing. If someone has BP problem, heart disease, diabetes after the age of 40 or women who have gone through menopause, their problems may increase with age. Their bones become weak, brittle and spongy. Even a slight fall or injury increases the risk of bone breaking.

Preventive Measures:

With the increase in age, bones become weak, hence it becomes necessary to do something so that the bones become strong and the muscles also do not become loose.

Nutritious Diet:

The first requirement for this is nutritious food. There should be adequate amount of mineral element calcium in our daily diet. Milk is its best source.

Vitamin D:

The second requirement is Vitamin D, for which intake of sunlight is necessary. The sun shines more in summer. We get this Vitamin D from sunlight throughout the day during winter.

The strong sunlight of summer is harmful, that is why it is advised to take advantage of its mild sunlight, whereas such a situation does not exist during winter. In this season the sun remains gentle throughout the day.

Light Exercise:

To avoid pain in the muscles during winter, it is important to keep them healthy, which is possible only through our physical activity and exercise. At this age, do light exercise instead of heavy exercise. Do whatever is possible.

Even though this age demands rest, excess of rest can increase complaints of joint pain, muscle stiffness and strain in cold weather. Exercise at this age does not necessarily mean building a fit body, but rather keeping the body fit through physical activity and light exercise and work.

All this will save us from physical problems caused by cold. If there is severe pain, you must consult your doctor.
