Recorded Discourse: Guru Teaches Guru Mantra to Remove Evils From Society: The Revered Guru Ji
During the Naamcharcha (Spiritual Assembly), the Revered Guru Ji while highlighting the importance of Guru (Spiritual Guide) stated that Guru is there to remove the vices from the society i.e. all the evils like intoxication, prostitution, non-vegetarianism. He teaches Guru Mantra (God’s Words) to remove all types of evils and does not take anything in return from anyone, such a Spiritual Guide is the true Guru.
The Revered Guru Ji further stated that ‘Gu’ means darkness and ‘Ru’ means light, the one who lights the lamp of knowledge in the darkness of ignorance is the true Guru. The need of Guru was always there, is there and will always be there. Especially where there is discussion of spirituality, a Guru is very important for that. If it is seen that way, there has always been a need for a guide in the society.

When a child is born, its first teacher is its mother. She teaches the child everything like feeding, drinking, bathing, dressing, even cleaning excreta. There is no other worldly guide like mother. Further the child learns to walk. Herein its sister, brother, father starts taking the form of the guru (guide).
The father gives worldly education to his child such as how to live in the world, what to do, and what not to do? The father puts his own experience in his lap, if someone wants to take it, because this is the era of Kaliyug (Era of Vices), as soon as the child gets his own household, he discards the experiences of his father & mother. That’s why orphanages are being built and are being filled up.
But when it comes to guru, then that guru is also the father who imparts teachings and takes us forward. Next the gurus keep changing from college, university and so forth and the person gets trained in worldly education. The Revered Guru Ji stated that even for worldly education, teachers, masters and lecturers are essential. The worldly education, which is visible, there are doctors, shopkeepers, businessmen, and job profession.
But there is such an education which is spiritual, spiritual knowledge, how can the soul meet the Supreme Master? He is not visible outside. So how can you say that you don’t need a Guru? When there is a need of a guru for worldly knowledge, then for spiritual knowledge (to meet God) also the need of a Guru is essential. Somewhere or the other, you or your friend, you work as each other’s teacher for a little knowledge. If you have knowledge, you give it to your friends; if a friend gives his knowledge to you, then it means to say that the one who gives knowledge is considered a guru in the world. But the best place is of a Spiritual Guide.
The Spiritual Guide reads, listens, gains knowledge from the holy discourses of all the spiritual saints, their sacred texts. He does not stop here. He himself practices the practical Method of Meditation. Then the Guru teaches Guru Mantra (Method of Meditation or God’s Words) to the people to remove vices from the society i.e. intoxication, prostitution, non-vegetarian, and all the evils prevalent in the society.
When a person takes that Guru Mantra and recites it, he gets self-confidence from within, and with the help of which a person can achieve success in every good deed and if he recites the Guru Mantra continuously, then he becomes affluent with happiness from inside and outside.
