How is Reading a Book Better than Reading an E-book

Introduction: People now days  are so much absorbed into smartphones and laptops that they have forgotten the feeling of reading books. Even if they want to, they would prefer reading something over their phones or laptops. The feeling, the touch, and the smell of having a book in your hands can never be compared with an e-book.

On the other hand, for a person who is adventurous when it comes to gadgets, gifting them an e-book can be a life-changing experience for them. Reading is very important these days, people will not update themselves by reading a newspaper now, they would put a notification reminder in their gadget which will keep them updated on every current affair. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages.

Reading an e-book can pull you closer to the tech world which is harmful to your health, especially your eyes, and reading a book can keep you closer to the traditional way of reading. When you are more influenced towards real books, you can collect them, cherish them throughout life, and make a good collection of books you have already read and it will always give you a feeling of an attachment and emotion which an e-book can never give.

This shows the power of a paper book, how it can help us to remember so many important things just by reading it.

The paper helps people to save themselves from a high level of screen luminance and suits readers with a sleeping problems and eye strain. Reading paper books is not just good for the eyes but a really good habit. An electronic device used for reading can contribute to visual fatigue, a condition marked by tiredness, itching, and burning eyes. Reading an e-book before bedtime also decreases the production of metabolism, a hormone that preps the body for sleep.

Reading on Paper May Decrease Screen Time:

Many book lovers still prefer the traditional way of reading a book. In today’s time, everybody needs to decrease their screen time and adults run out of options to do something good with their time rather than scrolling through their social media, the last option they are left with is a reading book which will only result in something good and will not damage their health in any way. If  they  do reading with an e-book, it will not result in productive activity. Decreasing screen time is a major issue these days and not only with adults but even with toddlers, teenagers, and oldies. The only source of gathering information from somewhere rather than the internet is just books.

Getting quick information from the internet has solved so many things for us and made it easy for all of us to keep learning about different things just by searching it on our smartphones but that doesn’t mean books are not important anymore. Books are our legacy which needs to be saved and protected till the time we are on earth. Written information has more value than information available online. Books have been here for centuries and contain the knowledge of our past, civilization, and culture. Reading books also helps us with stress and calms our minds. They enlighten us about our past events and you can always keep them with you for the rest of your life. You’ll always have a fresh feeling whenever you will open a book to re-read it, the touch and the feel you will get will refresh all the memories and the thoughts you felt when you read the same book for the first time. The attachment you feel with the paper book will never be the same as the e-book.

Books give us insight into how other people live, broaden our worldviews, influence our thoughts on politics and social issues, show us how to be better people, and help us  not to feel alone. Developing an interest in reading books is easy, you just have to find a book of your interest and from that day books will be your best friend.
