In the 80s and 90s, there was a time, when most of the employees were being kicked out of the jobs. So the employees started looking for new jobs. Before that people used to pass their whole life serving at one place.
But after that tradition of serving at one place stopped and thus job hopping started. With the passage of time acceptability of job hopping has increased, because now the days of life long career has gone.

There may be plenty of benefits of job hopping, but lack of commitment and sense of insecurity always remains there. In films and stories also we come to know that there is a talk going on, the employee is an aged persons and the present boss is son of the old boss. It shows that the employees were so satisfied and contended that they used to provide 4 to 5 decades working with the same employer.
This used to create a family kind of bonding and commitments; and thus both the employer and the employee would remain satisfactory. Whereas this situation altogether is lacking in present scenario. What to say, even for months they cannot work together. No one is ready to hear or listen a word. Patience is lacking altogether.
Even after a slightest hot words exchange, either the employer would ask to leave the job or the employee himself would arrange a job the next day and would say bye-bye. Today everyone has his own vested interests, may be boss or an employee. Previously the interests of the institution was considered to be on the top and other interests were secondary. It is also to note that now the scene has changed altogether.
The young generation is so crazy about job hopping that it is affecting the personal family relations also. What to say about male, even female employees are becoming so much career conscious that they do not even think of the family and the kids. Even the women employees go on job hopping, ignoring the future of the kids. Nuclear family is an additional draw back to that.
