This is not ill gotten money

Revered Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj Blessed with Goodsense This is not ill gotten money
Premi Banta Singh belongs to village Mahrajka, Jalalana Sahib of Sirsa district. He has, thus, presented an amazing event of the blessings of the Spiritual Guide. The incident took place in 1962.

Banta Singh has described the events vividly through writing.

One-day revered elder ‘Mata Ji’ called me home. She told me an incident in which a person had borrowed some money from the Revered Param Pita Ji (before He took over as the Spiritual Master of Dera Sacha Sauda). The man had not returned the money. Revered Shahanshah Ji has gone to the Dera Sacha Sauda.

In such circumstances, the man may not return the money that he had borrowed. Son, you go there and ask the man to return the money. According to the wishes of the Revered Mata Ji, I met that person and asked him to return the money which he had borrowed earlier. I told him to go and return the money to the Revered Mata Ji.

I also told him that the Revered Mata Ji had sent me for this purpose only. Surprisingly the man refused to acknowledge the fact that he owed any money. He said that he had already returned the money and there was no due left. There was not a single penny that he had to return now, he said.

His dishonest mind had instigated him to speak a lie at this time. He thought that Revered Mata Ji and others will not remember whether he had returned the money or not. Premi Ji said that two years after the incident in 1962, the same man (the servant) came to our house. He was in great difficulties as if there was some heavy load on his mind.

He started speaking in a weak and timid voice.

He asked me to accompany him to the Revered Param Pita Ji in Dera Sacha Sauda. I asked him what was the matter and why was he behaving in such a manner. He said there is some urgent work and that’s why he had come. I told him not to worry and that I will accompany him to the Dera in a day or two.

But he insisted that I must accompany him to the Dera right at that moment. He started weeping and told me that he had spoken a lie to me that day when I met him that he did not owe any money to the Param Pita Ji. He said Beparwah Mastana Ji appeared before me started beating me like anything.

He thrashed me. He rebuked me, called me a dog, and said, ‘this is not ill-gotten money’. Two years have passed. You never returned the money and now you are saying that you returned it and don’t owe anything? If you do not return the money today, you will be beaten so much that you will not be alive the next day. Bhai Banta Ji if I do not return the money today, tomorrow I will be beaten badly.

I have somehow arranged the money to return to the owner. I pitied his condition. I took him along with me to the Dera Sacha Sauda. After taking due permission of the Revered Param Pita Ji we met Him. Revered Shahanshah Ji the benevolent Pita Ji enquired about well-being and the reason for coming to the Teravas.

The person said, Benevolent Benefactor! I had borrowed Rs 500 from You which I have come to return. Rev. Param Pita JiJi said that He did not ask him to return the money. The man said he never intended to return the money. In fact, he had adopted a denial mode and said that I did not owe any money at all.

I was not going to return the money, but the Beparwah Mastana Ji came to me yesterday. He threatened me first and then beat me black and blue, saying the money was not ill gotten (haram). He took out Rs 500 from his pocket and very humbly put it near the holy feet of the Revered Shahanshah Ji. He then said, Baba Ji please acceptYour money.

Looking at the person the Benevolent Benefactor took out Rs 100 from the bundle of notes and gave it to the man, saying you are a poor man. This money you can use in your house. Although that man did not want to take back the money given by Revered Shahanshah Ji, thinking that the Beparwah Mastanaji may beat him again why he had not paid the entire amount. But the Param Pita Ji convinced him not to be afraid.

We will get you pardoned from the Bepwarwah Ji, he told the man, adding that it is according to His wishes that I am giving you this Rs 100.You can use this money for your household expenses. Beparwah Ji will not say anything to you. The rest of Rs. 400 have been deposited with the member of the management of Dera Sacha Sauda as per the wishes of the Sai Beparwah Mastana Ji.

In this way Beparwah Shah Sastana Ji Maharaj got the dishonest man to return the hard earned money of the Revered Param Pita Ji by putting pressure on the mind of the man and then showing a lot of benevolence also pardoned him.
