Editorial –The Sacred Teachings of Spiritual Saints: Earth Can Also Become Heaven
According to great spiritual leaders and all religions, human life is governed by the law of karma. Whatever a person sows, he reaps accordingly. If someone plants acacia seeds, how can he expect to harvest sweet fruits? He will only reap thorns. Spiritual saints and great men have declared that nothing happens without effort and no action goes in vain. They state that whatever a person does, whether good or bad, he must face its consequences. These consequences cannot be avoided.
It is also a law of nature that one must bear the results of one’s actions. However, in today’s selfish Kaliyuga, people have become excessively materialistic. Their principle has become “eat, drink, and be merry,” which is truly worrying. All religions, including the Vedas and scriptures, teach that the first duty of a human being is to worship God, respect parents and elders, love children, remain faithful to one’s religion, earn honestly, and help the needy.
Perfect spiritual saints live among us in human form. History shows that many social reformers opposed evils such as the Sati system and dowry. They raised strong voices against these practices despite opposition and faced many difficulties. Over time, these evils came to be recognised as harmful by society.
Saints and great men come into this world for the welfare of humanity. Today, due to problems such as drug addiction, people are suffering and society is in disorder. The values of religion are declining. Only true saints can understand the pain of the soul. They are believed to be entrusted by the Almighty with the duty of guiding people away from sin and suffering.
Spiritual leaders believe in the law of karma—“as you sow, so shall you reap.” However, their aim is to guide humanity towards happiness and spiritual upliftment. Regardless of criticism, they continue to do good for all. They strive to connect people with one another, with religion, and with God. Through such efforts, they promote unity and humanity. The lesson of humanity has been emphasised in the Dera Sacha Sauda from the very beginning.
The present Spiritual Master of Dera Sacha Sauda, Revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, has called upon people to awaken their sense of humanity. He encourages individuals to understand their family and social responsibilities, remain loyal to their religion, and eliminate social evils such as drug addiction and female foeticide. These efforts, aimed at public welfare, are commendable.
Revered Guru Ji has conveyed in His spiritual congregations that if every person sincerely follows their religion without pretence, the world can quickly transform into a better place. When individuals renounce evil and devote themselves to God, social wrongs lose their significance.
Through His teachings, He has guided more than 75 million people away from harmful practices and towards spirituality. His efforts for the welfare of humanity continue tirelessly. His vision is of a world where all beings live happily and without fear. This has always been the aim of true spiritual leaders.
