The report said that in the year 2023, 4.8 lakh accidents occurred in the country in which 1.72 lakh people lost their lives. According to the data, 35000 pedestrians and 10000 children are among those who lost their lives.
Most of these deaths have occurred due to human error or negligence. Negligence like not wearing helmet and not fastening seat belt is also causing loss of life, as 54000 of those who died were without helmet and 16000 were without seat belt. It is a sad situation that so many deaths have occurred in road accidents.
These figures are not just for reading and hearing. It is a matter of serious thinking. How many precious lives are going into the jaws of untimely death. Those who have died are gone and the trauma these accidents cause to their relatives is such that they cannot recover from it for the rest of their lives.
In this report, the major reason for these deaths is human error or negligence, overcoming which is no less than a challenge. A small negligence can cause a very big accident. It has become very important to curb the negligence that gives rise to accidents. Of course, campaigns are being run for this. Rules have been made. Very strict steps are also taken for following traffic rules. Strict actions are also taken, but still the danger of human error on life remains the same. These road accidents show that the road route is no longer a safe route.
