Editorial: Patriotism Great Strength Drew, From Divine Grace of the Guru
The whole country is celebrating Independence Day. Songs of freedom are being sung everywhere. Stories of independence are resonating in all directions because the heroic tales of this freedom are truly great. The freedom we are enjoying today has been bestowed upon us after immense sacrifices. So many years have passed in attaining it. The people of the nation struggled for a long time for this much-awaited, beloved freedom. Heroes, warriors, and great men risked their lives to free us from the chains of slavery. The brave sons of Mother India fulfilled their duty wholeheartedly and only rested after securing India’s freedom.
This day of 15th August is very fortunate for us. It is a matter of pride to celebrate this Independence Day with great pomp and show. With this pride and glory, we declare to the world, “Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindustan Hamara” (Our India is better than the whole world). This day is a symbol of pride and honour for every citizen. It is a day of great dedication and salutation. This day brings immense joy. Now this earth and sky belong to us. This atmosphere and climate are ours. That is why the meaning of freedom is of the highest order. This holy day of 15th August is indeed lucky for us. Filled with patriotic feelings, this day has brought the festival of freedom for the people of the nation. At the same time, it carries the sacred message of devotion along with patriotism for the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda.
And when devotion to the Guru merges with patriotism, it becomes something unique. This is because the Revered Guru of Dera Sacha Sauda, Saint Dr MSG, incarnated on this very auspicious day. On the holy incarnation day of our Revered Spiritual Master, the joy of freedom has increased manifold. The meaning of freedom has also become unique. The happiness of the body and the mind has become the happiness of the soul. For them, this holy day of 15th August became an example of spiritual love—such love cannot be found anywhere else in the world. A state of spiritual ecstasy was attained in which the soul soared across the skies. Freedom became a reality.
Souls, who had suffered under the slavery of Negative Power for countless ages, found liberation. They came to know of their true homeland—the Eternal Abode. Their eyes of knowledge were opened through the divine company of the Spiritual Master. They realized the difference between truth and falsehood. When the flame of supernatural love was lit, the moths rushed towards it. The souls attained such peace that they were truly blessed. All were filled with joy after receiving the divine vision of the manifest form of their Supreme Father God. The sorrows and ailments of many births were removed. They were freed from the cycle of births and deaths. The doors of salvation were opened for them.
The country became free—this is the pinnacle of patriotism; and the souls found the path of salvation—this is the divine outcome of Guru Bhakti. There can be no progress without the Guru. To meet the Perfect Guru is the reward of great karmas. That moment is sacred. In the same way, the auspicious day of 15th August arrived, when souls had the opportunity to behold the Perfect Spiritual Guide. They experienced the happiness of both the worlds. They discovered an easy and simple path of devotion. Not only this, but a great passion for service towards the nation was also awakened.
The sacred guidance of the Guru strengthened their devotion, and their sense of patriotism became stronger through Guru Bhakti. The great personality of the Revered Guru Ji is a true reflection of patriotism. It is because of the Revered Guru Ji that today crores of followers are actively serving the nation. Such an example of patriotism is rare. For such patriots, the festival of Independence Day is indeed unique.
