Make Panchratna Dal Khichdi Recipe At Home This Way - Sachi Shiksha

Ingredients for Panchratna Dal Khichdi Recipe

  • 1/4th  each of tuvar dal
  • Yellow moong dal
  • Urad dal
  • Red masoor dal and chana dal
  • 1 cup rice
  • 8/10 cloves of garlic coarsely chopped
  • 2 teaspoon each of sarson (raai)
  • Jeera
  • Sesame seeds (til)
  • 2 pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 whole dry red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoon pure ghee
  • 6-7 cups warm water
  • And half cup green coriander finely chopped

Panchratna Dal Khichdi Recipe Method

  1. Wash all the dals and rice thoroughly and let it soak in clean water for about 1 hour and remove excess water.
  2. Heat a pressure pan, add 2 tablespoon ghee and 1 teaspoon each of raai, jeera and sesame seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add hing and all the dals and rice to it.
  4. Sauté for 5 minutes.
  5. Add 3/4th teaspoon of turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and mix everything well.
  6. Add warm water to it and bring it to boil, add garam masala powder and salt and pressure cook it for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Place a small saucepan on low flame and heat 1 tablespoon ghee, 1 teaspoon each of raai, jeera and sesame seeds and let them splutter.
  8. Add garlic and whole dry red chilli sauté for 1 min, switch off the flame and add 1/4th teaspoon each of turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder,
  9. After the pressure cooker cools down open it and add the tempering.

Garnish it with fresh green coriander and serve hot.
