Restful Sleep Is Essential For Good Health

Restful sleep is the biggest blessing for good health. The modern lifestyle is such that only a few people get a peaceful sleep. Peaceful sleep increases strength, energy and efficiency in the body. People are not able to sleep peacefully due to some stress or their lifestyle is such that they can’t take complete sleep; their health starts deteriorating gradually.

Irritability and laziness increases in their nature. Many people resort to alcohol or sleeping pills for good sleep. Initially, one gets good sleep but gradually the body starts affecting the sleep system, which is a big loss in the future. Anyway, consumption of sleeping pills for a long time is injurious to health. Due to it, many problems are likely to flourish.

 In such a situation, natural remedies should be used for good, peaceful sleep, so that our sleep system starts working properly and no other problem arises. Let’s take a look at some such rules, by adopting which maybe you too will be able to sleep peacefully and keep your health in good shape:

  • Do not eat anything late at night. Eat dinner by 8 o’clock so that the food gets digested till bedtime. Eating or having snacks till late night increases the level of blood sugar in the body and causes problems in sleeping.
  • Do not do any work or watch TV after going to bed. This will remove your sleep. Don’t watch TV after 9:00 pm.
  • When you go to bed, try to close your eyes and pay attention to your breathing, slowly you will get absorbed into the lap of sleep.
  • If you are fond of reading at night, then sit on the table and chair and read some spiritual or inspirational books. Do not read dramatic novels, detective books or entertainment books.
  • Try to sleep as early as possible at night. According to researchers, special parts of our body, especially the adrenal glands, recover their power during sleep from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am. If you do not sleep on time, then your adrenal glands will not be able to take advantage of it.
  • For good sleep, keep yourself physically & mentally busy, so that the mind does not get entangled in useless things.
  • Set a bedtime and stick to the same routine. Due to the deterioration of the routine, the system of sleep deteriorates.
  • Meditation also helps in sleeping well. Meditation before sleeping calms the nervous system and leads to good sleep.
  • Keep the bedroom temperature normal, neither too cold nor too hot. If you feel cold in AC or cooler, cover yourself with a thick sheet. There is no sleep even due to a large difference in the temperature.
  • Do not let pets sleep with you or in the room. There is also a risk of allergy from this and pets also spoil sleep.
  • If for some reason you have to stay awake for two to three nights, then do not take the help of medicine for peaceful sleep the next day. Let the body’s sleep system return to its old pattern in a natural way.
  • Keep the bedroom cool. Do not play any music after 9:00 pm.
  • Switch off bedroom lights and shut off the windows before going to bed, as noise from outside with open windows can also disturb sleep. Keep this thing in mind.
  • Don’t think about it when you can’t sleep. Remember God and focus on your breathing while lying in Shavasana (Corpse Pose).
