BVEST X: Decoding the Decade of Technological Evolution

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering in New Delhi enthusiastically hosted its annual technical festival, BVEST’24, on March 5th and 6th, 2024. This spectacular event was coordinated by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, where more than 25 student-led societies put their efforts to make it a success.

The fest representative told Sachi Shiksha that, this two-day event attracted immense attention, with over 1,500 participants and 35,000 online impressions. BVEST’24 provides a platform for showcasing technical creativity and offers avenues for imaginative and innovative explorations.

All the dedicated team behind BVEST’24, played a pivotal role in its success, expertly balancing the technical and non-technical aspects of the event. Their efforts made sure that everyone who attended had a smooth and enjoyable experience, which further enhanced the fest’s standing as a leading platform for innovation, talent, and technology.

The main attraction of the festival was the 24-hour offline Hackathon, “HACK@BVP 6.0,” where more than 150 students from different universities took part on the theme of “Tech Enabled Accessibility”.

BVEST’24 also featured non-technical events such as Subway Surfer contests, the liberating Rage Room, and a dynamic DJ evening, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all participants.

RoboSoccer – “Build | Kick | Conquer”

An event where participants crafted robots to compete in soccer. The field echoed with the whirring of robots outwitting opponents and scoring goals. This futuristic blend of technology and sportsmanship left a lasting impression on participants.

GEEKOUT 2.0 – “Where Brilliance Meets the Binary !!”

The participants gathered in a room for 30 minutes to crack jumbled code problems and puzzles.

Webweave – “Designing the future, one interface at a time”

WebWeave celebrated design’s influence on user experiences and innovation. The UI/UX competition provided a platform for diverse talents to showcase skills, fostering creativity and contributing to the evolution of digital design.

TechMonTech Challenge – “Where Challenges Fuel Innovation!!”

A thrilling tech twist on Capture the Flag. Teams solved riddles and tackled technical questions. Passwords submitted via Google form to unlock each round, adding to the thrill!

GST – Gareeb Shark Tank – “Sink, Swin, Splash”

Gareeb Shark Tank is a two-round college event! In Round 1, teams submitted innovative ideas online. Top ventures proceeded to Round 2, an offline pitch. This event sparked creativity and pitching prowess, fostering innovation!

Agni-Path – “Racing into the Future, One Bot at a Time!”

Societies Collaborating – BVP Optica & ISA BVCOE

Agni-Path, a thrilling robot competition, showcased precision and agility. Autonomous robots navigated obstacles, racing against time. It was a battle of wits, where innovation and skill triumphed.

Tri – Psych – el – “Pedal your way to innovation”

Societies Collaborating – BVP-ISTE, BMS, Qaafila
A Techno-cultural Ideathon focused on Mental Health. Participants were assessed for technical and speaking skills across four rounds, with an emphasis on mental health awareness. There were no eliminations; instead, the panel provided cumulative judging throughout the event.

Design Dazzle – “Revitalize, Redesign, Reimagine: A Creative Revolution”

Societies Collaborating – BVPCSI, DAS, ACM
Participants engaged in a UI/UX design competition, selecting from real-world problem statements or reviving existing websites. Challenges chosen on-site offered a unique creative experience.

Aavishkaran – “From concept to conquest”

Societies Collaborating – Enactus, Optica, EDC
Teams presented their business ideas to seasoned judges, backed by comprehensive plans addressing sustainability, financial forecasts, and project concept, fostering competition and innovation.

Zenith – “Gaming Redefined”

The ultimate gaming showdown at “Zenith,” This gaming extravaganza featured three adrenaline-pumping tournaments: FIFA, Tekken-7, and BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India).

The event focussed on developing an overall profile to excel in placement and internship drives. The event was divided into 3 stages which resonated with the objectives of each collaborating society.

Participants immersed themselves in crafting compelling brand identities. They shaped captivating logos for fictional companies, considering backgrounds, missions, target audiences, and offerings, showcasing their creative prowess.

The first round served as the elimination stage for the Jeopardy competition. Held just before the main event, teams faced challenges to qualify for the Jeopardy round, adding a competitive edge to the proceedings.

An intellectually stimulated event that consisted of three rounds designed to test participants’ wit and eloquence.

Pitch Perfect – “Pitch to million dollar funds”

Societies Collaborating – IET, EDC
Participants were provided a curated list of diverse products spanning various industries and sectors. They had to create a comprehensive marketing strategy on the spot.

InnoVogue – “Fashion-Tech Fusion”

Societies Collaborating – Venuva,GFG

The event celebrated the fusion of fashion and technology, showcasing the boundless potential of their collaboration. In an age propelled by innovation, it underscored the transformative impact of interdisciplinary creativity.

PyHunt – Exploring the Python

Societies Collaborating – ISA, GFG

The PyHunt competition unfolded in two exhilarating rounds, each designed to challenge and showcase the participants’ Python prowess and problem-solving skills.

Teams crafted a 12-player squad with a 100 Cr budget in a virtual auction, bidding strategically on a 200-player pool. Specific requirements and strategic bids determined success, creating excitement and sportsmanship as teams aimed for victory in this thrilling cricket challenge!

Game of Code – Unlock your potential: Code, Compete, Conquer

Collaborating Societies: Techshuttle, GDSC

The “Game of Code” event unfolded with three thrilling rounds. Round One took participants on a quest, solving 20 unique, logic-based questions across the campus. Round Two featured a strategic Scrabble game, and the final showdown determined the top three teams with a mysterious on-the-spot puzzle.

The fest representative told that With a generous prize pool of 50 lakhs, BVEST’24 not only rewarded participants but also crafted an immersive and unforgettable experience. The fest’s influence reached more than 100 colleges and universities, showcasing its widespread impact and the ability to engage a diverse audience.
