Sweetcorn Dumplings

  • 2 cups sweet corn (boiled),
  • onion (thinly sliced),
  • half cup gram flour,
  • 2 tbsp rice flour,
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric,
  • tsp kashmiri red chilli powder,
  • 1 tsp ginger,
  • garlic paste,
  • 1/4 tsp chaat masala,
  • a pinch of hing (asafoetida),
  • few curry leaves (chopped),
  • 1/4 tsp salt,
  • oil (for frying).

Sweetcorn Dumplings Recipe:

Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 2 cups boiled sweet corn and 1/2 thinly sliced onion. Mix well and make sure the corn is mashed well. Alternatively, pulse in a mixer.

Now add gram flour, 2 tbsp rice flour, turmeric, chilli powder, chaat masala, ginger-garlic paste, a pinch of hing, few curry leaves and salt. Mix well without adding water. Add more besan ( gram flour) if required and make a dough. Now  make the corn pakoda mixture into rough balls and drop it into the hot oil. Stir occasionally and fry on medium flame. Fry the pakodas till they are crisp and golden. It takes around 10-15 minutes. Lastly, serve crispy corn pakodas with chutney or tomato sauce.
